She’s not a cop and her powers aren’t proof - at least not in the legal sense. It’s all about whether Charlie will catch them in their lie, how each character reacts to being confronted, and how Charlie can prove it. It’s less of a crime procedural, and therefore less cliched. This turns it into far more of a character drama. We’re not watching it trying to figure it out, we know the butler did it. We see the calm before the storm, we learn everyone’s personality, we see the planning of the murder, witness the killing itself, and see the aftermath.
